1. Trace Your Stencil
Place your tracing paper over the stencil sheet and trace your chosen design with a pencil. If you'd like to include text, add it at this stage to ensure it transfers in the correct direction when stamped.
2. Carve Your Stamp
If there is a large amount of extra material around your design, use the knife attachment to trim it away. Any leftover space can be saved for a second, smaller stamp.
To change attachments, unscrew the top of the carving tool until the knife comes loose. Insert the largest carving attachment and screw it back in until secure.
Begin carving away the negative space around your design. Remember, anything you want to appear in your final print should remain raised. Start by removing the larger areas first, saving smaller details for later.
When you're ready to carve fine lines, lettering, or intricate details, switch to a smaller attachment. Carefully carve around these areas so they remain elevated above the surrounding surface.
Clean up any rough edges and remove excess material as needed. Your design should stand out clearly from the carved background.
3. Make Your Print
Apply ink evenly to the raised surface of your stamp. Place your paper firmly over the stamp and gently rub across the back of the paper to transfer the design. Carefully lift the paper to reveal your print.
3. Add your embellishments
Using your paintbrush, apply a small amount of sealant to the area where you'd like to add your dried florals or collage elements. Arrange them on your dish, then gently smooth down the edges to ensure everything is securely attached and no pieces are lifting or poking up.
4. Seal
Lightly brush sealant over your dish to give it a soft sheen.
when you’re done with your paintbrush, please place it in the water cup to help us make sure it doesn’t dry up - thank you!
5. Let dry
Carefully transfer your dish to a box and leave it uncovered. Allow it to dry for 1–3 days.
